All the states that took part in NATO’s attack on Libya are now shoving towards the front of the queue for profitable energy deals with the National Transitional Council (NTC).
France is the early front runner. The NTC sent a letter to the cabinet of the Emir of Qatar in April, saying that it had committed to granting France priority access to 35 per cent of Libya’s crude oil in return for France’s “full and permanent support”. ■
